Fail Safe Foundations
Foundations, BB creams, Tinted Moisturiser's, any base for that matter, are a problem of mine. I am obsessed with trying them. Having had severe combination skin in the past means that I have road tested everything and only the best of the best survive. These are the foundation winners which have remained constants and cover all bases (pun truly intended).
Chanel: Vitalumiere Aqua - Good for: All skin types.
I have used this since I was 14 when I saw Fleur De Force rave about it, and I have never looked back. It's my ultimate fail safe for bad skin days when nothing. else. works. It's especially great on dry skins who struggle to find a foundation that sits well. Dries down to a natural finish with build- able coverage, if you are going to splurge, let it be this!
Use for: Light to Build-able Coverage & Natural Finish.
The Party Girl
The Ordinary: Coverage Foundation - Good for: Normal to Oily.
The clue is in the name with this one! Great for going out and events as it photographs really well due to the lack of SPF. The price is amazing and with a decent shade range for high street, you can't go wrong. Too heavy for me day-to-day but apply with a beauty blender to sheer out and build up. I would avoid for much drier skins.
Use for: High Coverage & Semi-matte finish.
Charlotte Tilbury: Light Wonder - Good For: Dry to Normal.
This was my first CT purchase and it's still one of my favourites. It glides on with whatever form of application and provides a lovely glow. It needs powdering down on the T-zone and concealer on the areas that need more omph though! Use in conjunction with Wonder Glow and get the best glow/soft focus wizardry of YOUR LIFE. If your after higher coverage maybe the Magic Foundation could work for you, I really didn't get on with it when I tried it, maybe one for oilier skins?
Use for: Light to Medium coverage & radiant finish.
YSL: Touche Eclat Foundation - Good for: Dry to Normal.
I love this all year round- in the summer, it plays on your tan and gives you a great glow, and in the winter months it works great on dried out skin. A favourite of both me and my mums (and that’s when you know you have a good'un) but oilier skins should probably avoid. I haven’t tried the new formulation but heard great things!
Use for: medium coverage & glowy finish.
Other Corkers: Bourjouis Healthy mix, Estee Lauder Water Fresh foundation, Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick, Nars Sheer Glow.
