Paris Photo Diary
Sunshine and the Sacre Couer....
I didn't really know if to attach any writing to these posts but I always look for tips and recommendations when visiting somewhere (be it home or away) so I thought I would throw in a few bits that helped when exploring the city!
I think staying in the centre of Paris is 100% worth it if you can. It's such a beautiful city to walk around and the time spent on travelling in to the city, you can have a little longer in bed or a lazy breakfast! It's also an excuse to explore the area you're staying in as well, where you'll probably find some hidden gems.
Left Bank & Right Bank:
It's a great way to split your exploration of the city. I found they have slightly different vibes as well and I love watching the neighbourhoods change!
City mapper be praised! Finally got the hang of the metro and to be honest, aside from not being able to pronounce some of the underground stops it's very akin to the London Underground. It is also super speedy and a great way to get around when the Paris traffic is a little heavy!
There's so many great places to eat in Paris, french food is one of my favourites, but its an expensive city and lots of eating and drinking out can be a drain on the purse!
Save a bit of money, and I understand this is weather dependant, but a good way to take advantage of the beautiful public gardens and parks Paris has to offer, is to have a picnic. Go to supermarket or bakery, pick up all the delicious food and sit out and people watch. My favourites are the Palais Royal and The Luxembourg Gardens.
I will pop a list of my favourite places to visit on part 2!
